Nanka Development Funding Program for 2009-2010

Senior (Over 17 yrs. Old, Youth competing in Senior Divisions)
Funding will be provided in part to alleviate the cost for participation in National/International events sponsored by the USJF, USA Judo and Nanka Yudanshakai.  The following events will be funded:
  • 2009 US Open
  • 2009~2010 International (USA Judo Team Members)
  • 2010 Sr. Nationals

Funding will also be provided to Elite athletes A through E, which are on the USA Judo Elite Athlete roster as follows:
  • Assisting Nanka sponsored clinics as clinicians
  • Nanka sponsored tournaments
  • Attending training camps

Requirements to receive any funding are as follows:
  • Must be a registered Nanka member of a registered Nanka club 6 months prior to the time of the event and also at the time of application for funding.
  • Must be a registered USJF member of a registered USJF club 6 months prior to the time of the event and also the time of application for funding of any event which is funded by any USJF grant.
  • Must be a US citizen or Nanka club member for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Specific development criteria must be met for yonen, shonen, and seinen categories. All categories are required to help at all Nanka Sponsored tournaments (Nanka Jr. – Sr. Fall tournament, Nanka Team tournament, Nanka Novice tournament, Nanka Speed Harada tournament, and the Nikkei games).
  • All funding is dependent on availability of funds and compliance of Senior practice program.
  • Request for funds must be made in writing including Event, Date, Location, Result and a 1 to 2-paragraph summary of the event.

Juniors/Youth (Under 20 yr. Old)
Funding will be provided in part to alleviate the cost for participation in International, National and local events sponsored by the USJF, USA Judo and Nanka Yudanshakai.  The following events will be funded:
  • 2010 United States Junior National Championships Team
  • 2010 US Jr. Open
  • 2010 MS, HS & Collegiate Nationals (Youth & Scholastic)
  • 2009~2010 International (USA Judo Team Members)

Fee reduction will be provided to 2009 USJF, USJA, and USJO Jr. National Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists as follows:
  • Participation in Nanka sponsored clinics
  • Participation in training camps

Requirements to receive any funding are as follows:
  • Must be a registered member of a Nanka club 6 months prior to the time of the event and at the time of application for funding
  • Must be a registered member of the USJF 6 months prior to any event which is funded by any USJF funds and at the time of application for funding
